This is awesome for a first game! Bit confused why I won after catching only 34 fish instead of the 47 he needs to feed his family and the cats, but it was still fun! There's a couple ways you can cheese the game by barely lowering your hook and staying at the bottom of the screen the whole time... could have fixed that by limiting movement to the X axis only; but that's about the only major issue I noticed. Oh, and Pierre's hat fell off at some point and I have no idea why. Purple mohawk was fun though :P
Oh wait, it's 47 cats, not 47 fish! That makes more sense :P
